Dr. Fizan Abdullah
Dr. Fizan Abdullah, MD, PhD has been Division Head of Surgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago since August 1, 2015. Dr. Abdullah has been Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine since August 1, 2015.
Dr. Abdullah joined Ann & Robert H. Lurie from Johns Hopkins Medicine where he is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Pediatric Surgery, the Program Director for the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship, and Assistant Program Director for the Residency in General Surgery. He also is an Associate Professor of International Health at Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore and is a well-recognized leader in the fields of pediatric surgery, health services research, and global health. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed original research articles.
Dr. Abdullah received his medical degree and doctorate of philosophy from the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his general surgery residency at Yale University and fellowship in pediatric surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
