The disastrous fires that lit up the night sky in southern California this past week are beginning to desist, but the same cannot be said for the damages that they are leaving behind. Aided by winds that stoked the fires and derailed efforts of firefighters, sixteen cities have been devastated and seven counties declared as national disaster areas. In the largest evacuation in California's modern history, a million people have been removed from their homes. San Diego County has been the worst hit area, and damages have amounted to an estimated $1 billion there alone.

San Diego, CA, October 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The disastrous fires that lit up the night sky in southern California this past week are beginning to desist, but the same cannot be said for the damages that they are leaving behind.

Throughout the escalating fire disaster, Humanity First USA is making every effort to collaborate with charity organizations to provide relief to victims of the hazardous situation in southern California. The first Humanity First relief team has been helping people evacuate to shelters in Orange County and San Diego. They are providing food, water and other essential supplies. Locally based medical volunteers and physicians have committed and are on call for QualCom Stadium Shelter throughout this weekend.

Working in collaboration with Red Cross, OC Rescue Operations, and other relief organizations bringing aid to southern California, Humanity First USA is striving to bring in necessary items, food, and shelter to the fire devastated areas.
