Overview

The Disaster Assessment team for Humanity First USA is based in New York City. This six to eight members team monitors all types of world events 24 hours a day. Whether it be a humanitarian disaster caused by human conflict or a natural disaster, this team generates a daily assessment through continuous monitoring of news agencies, United Nation organizations, and disaster monitoring agencies. When a report is deemed to be of sufficient magnitude, the Director of the Monitoring & Liaison Committee activates the Disaster Deployment Committee which determines the magnitude of Humanity First USA’s response. As the disaster relief operations are initiated, daily reports continue to be generated for Humanity First USA Executive committee to guide relief efforts.

As Humanity First is a recognized relief organization with the United Nations and member countries, members of the New York City-based assessment & liaison committee also represent Humanity First at relevant UN conferences and meetings. Committee members are vital in building new collaborations as well maintaining Humanity First existing relationships with the UN, and other governmental/non-governmental organizations.
