Hurricane Charlie Relief

In August of 2004 several coastal areas in the state of Florida were hit but a series of hurricanes. Hundreds of thousands of local residents were affected by these natural disasters.

Humanity First Approach

Humanity First, USA jump started a relief operation where several volunteers from Miami drove to the affected community of Punto Gorda, one of the hardest hit Florida towns, and helped local residents with their immediate needs of daily life.

Results

  • Several hundred people were given aid in the form of daily supplies
  • Over $5,000 worth of canned food, over the counter medicine, baby food, and diapers were supplied to families in need
  • Humanity First collaborated with Volunteers of America to distribute these supplies
