Kashmir Floods Appeal 2014

For the past one week, the Indian valley of Kashmir is grappling with the worst floods the valley has seen in the last 100 years. The death toll is estimated to be 450 and still rising. More than 200,000 people are relocated to safety by rescuers; and more than 75,000 people are still stranded in their submerged homes in the city of Srinagar alone. Hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri families have lost their homes, livelihoods and many are separated from their loved ones. Damage to infrastructure so far has been estimated at $1 billion.
