Humanity First, Our Kids Our Future
Humanity First, Our Kids Our Future, strives to provide literacy and education for all children locally and globally. In the past, OKOF has partnered with at-risk Chicago public schools to mentor students, promote literacy , raise funds and donate supplies, computers and other equipment.
Currently, OKOF hopes to inspire American youth through in-class and after-school programs at local elementary and high schools. It plans to donate books, build libraries, launch tutoring programs and hold job and life training workshops.
OKOF is committed to providing education to every child, in every corner of the world. But it also recognizes the rampant problem of girls being denied an education, and so one of its goals is to bridge that gender gap and support programs aimed to educate and empower girls in the United States and elsewhere in the world.
OKOF plans to inspire and encourage children around the world to pursue education as their lifelong goal. We hope you will join us in this exciting journey, and help support our cause in any way you can.
Humanity First is registered in 43 countries across 6 continents, and has been working on human development projects and responding to disasters since 1994. These have included the earthquakes in Turkey, Pakistan, Japan and Iran, floods in Africa and Latin America, hurricanes (Katrina and Rita) , tornado's (Kansas) and wild fires (California) in the USA, Indonesia and Bangladesh, and conflicts in Eastern Europe.
Since its inception and IRS registration in 2004, Humanity First has been focused on spending most of the raised funds on direct program related expenses. As a result, more than 90% of its funds are in that expense category. This is achieved through dedicated volunteers in its management, and program operation teams.
