Call for Disaster Relief Volunteers: Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy devastated the East Coast of the US, claiming over 100 lives and impacting the lives of millions.  The states of New York and New Jersey were hit the hardest and there are people still stranded in shelters, unsure when they will return to their homes.  Those who are able to go back home are finding fallen trees on their streets and homes, and debris everywhere.  Humanity First USA disaster response teams are helping the victims of Hurricane Sandy and are currently looking for additional volunteers for potential deployment.

Based on our current assessment, disaster response volunteers would be primarily needed to assist communities with the clean-up and distribution of essential supplies in the impacted areas.  Volunteers would be responsible for travel costs to designated areas. Boarding and lodging will be provided by Humanity First through local Humanity First partners in New York and New Jersey.  If interested, please contact pervaiz.khan@us.humanityfirst.org directly, or register as a Humanity First volunteer.
