Humanity First Indonesia Provides Medical Services, Disaster Response For Local Communities

On Sunday, April 8, 2012, Humanity First Indonesia conducted free medical services in collaboration with Paguyuban Masyarakat Cinta Bandung (PMCB) communities at the PMCB secretariat office in Cisaranten Kulon, Arcamanik District, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. A total of 137 patients were examined; the majority of cases seen were those of hypertension, myalgia, gastritis, and bones and joints pain. The Humanity First medical team included two doctors, two homeopaths, and seven volunteers.

In the past three months, Humanity First Indonesia’s team has been active and coordinating several projects. In November 2011, their team provided emergency response aid for victims of the floods and landslides in Wonosobo, Tieng Village, Central Java, Indonesia. The following month, a public soup kitchen was set up to serve 1,200 displaced victims of the disaster. HF Indonesia also provided free medical services and healing for trauma relief. They began 2012 by conducting a free medical camp in January in Samarinda, Kalimantan, Indonesia. Medical services were provided in cooperation with the FORUM Kalimantan community and over 70 patients were examined. In March 2012, they met with representatives of AIESEC Binus University, which is affiliated with the global youth organization, AIESEC Indonesia. Plans are being discussed to implement a Humanity First Indonesia program with their members.

The communities where aid has been provided in the past several month have been very grateful to the Humanity First volunteers for their assistance and services. Humanity First Indonesia continues to drive their fundraising efforts and organize programs to support those in need in their country.
